GAINESVILLE - The Sonic Restaurant in Gainesville is closing. Equipment and supplies were being loaded up this Monday morning. Company officials said it is one of several Sonics in north Georgia that are being closed.

A flood warning was issued this morning for Hall County and several other Northeast Georgia counties by the National Weather Service. As of 10 a.m. today, 4.1 inches of rain has fallen at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport since early Monday, according to the National Weather Service Web site.

GAINESVILLE - About 1,000 people were without power for a time early today in North Hall. Darrell Snyder, head of the Georgia Power office in Gainesville, said the outage was caused when a pine tree fell on a distribution line.
