Georgia State Patrol reports (The Valdosta Daily Times)
State troopers from the Tifton Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 85 traffic crashes in December in Lowndes County. Sgt. First Class L. Carl Taylor said the traffic crashes resulted in 44 injuries and one traffic death.
Tifton MainStreet program receives $10,000 grant (Tifton Gazette)
The Tifton-Tift County Main Street program was recently awarded a 2009 Hands On Georgia State Challenge Grant for $10,000. The grant will help to build an organization of volunteers and engage citizens in opportunities to bring about change in the community.
